Parx Super Car Show attracts 53 super cars

Mumbaikars certainly drooled to their heart’s content after they witnessed the second edition of 2010, presented by XXX Energy Drink , in association with IIFL and Autocar India, was held on Sunday, Jan 31, 2010 at Vidhan Sabha Parking Lot in Mumbai starting 9am until lunch time.

The first-of-its-kind event in India, the Parx Super Car Show was first launched in April 2009 to parade on the city roads the finest luxury and sports cars, which include top brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce, BMW, Mercedes, amongst others. This event is aimed to bring together like-minded individuals who own and have a passion for luxury and sports cars.

This episode of the show attracted more than 50 mean machines from across the length and breadth of India hitting the roads of Mumbai. Some of the crowd favourite were the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porche, BMW, Maserati, the newly launched Nissan 370Z and of course the Rolls Royce.

Gautam Singhania, whose passion for sports cars has given the Mumbaikars an opportunity to see the racing machines, said, “The aim of our Parx super car show is to bring together car lovers and owners for a short drive across the city that will also help our fellow citizens to see the cars that they have always wanted to see. It also serves as a platform for luxury car lovers to interact with each other.”

He also had brought to the show his collection of super cars like Ferrari 599, Ferrari 348, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise and Ariel Atom 3 for a spin.

The rally began that began early in the morning saw around 53 cars heading for a spin to Bandra via the Sea Link and back. The cars that made the crowd to go crazy were Ferrari 430, 599, 348; Porche 911 Turbo, Targa 4, 911, Boxster and Carrera 997 and Panamera, Cayman; Rolls Royce Phantom; Lamborghini Gallardo, LP 560, LP 640; Aston Martin; BMW M5, M3, Z4 Roadster and 650i; Jaguar XFR; Lotus Elise; Ariel Atom 3; Maserati GTS, Bentley GT Speed, Flying Spur and Continental GT Speed Mercedes CLK 500, SL 63, CLS AMG, C 63 AMG, SLK 350, CLS 350, CLS 500; Nissan 370Z and GTR.
